In accordance with the work deployment of the Party Committee of China National Materials International Engineering Group, Nanjing Kaisheng International Engineering Co., Ltd. held a 2020 annual democratic life meeting for party and leading cadres on the afternoon of March 11. Ma Liyun, Party Secretary and President of China National Building Materials Engineering Group, and Zhang Jiayi, Assistant Minister of Party and Mass Work Department, attended the meeting to provide guidance. Feng Jianhua, Party Secretary, Chairman and General Manager of Nanjing Kaisheng, presided over the meeting. Li Dongfeng, Deputy General Manager; Gao Aiguo, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager; Chen Changbai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission; Li Anping, Chief Engineer; and Party Committee members Wang Quanghua and Yu Jianrui attended the meeting. Heads of the Party and Mass Work Department and the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office were present at the meeting.

The theme of this democratic life meeting is to earnestly study and implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthen political construction, improve political capabilities, uphold the sentiments of the people, win a decisive victory in comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society, achieve the first centenary goal, and embark on a new journey of comprehensively building a socialist modern country.

At the meeting, Chen Changbai reported on the opinions solicited before the meeting. Feng Jianhua first made a self-criticism on behalf of the leadership team, checking the problems in five aspects: studying Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and improving political capabilities; adhering to and strengthening the Party's overall leadership and unswervingly implementing central decisions and deployments; fulfilling responsibilities and taking on responsibilities and working to resolve contradictions; studying and implementing the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and strengthening scientific planning for the company's economic and social development goals during the 14th Five-Year Plan period; and implementing overall strict governance of the Party and strictly observing political discipline and rules. The reasons for these problems were analyzed from the aspects of ideology, politics, style, ability, and integrity, and practical and feasible improvement measures and efforts were proposed.

Afterwards, members of the leadership team made individual self-examinations and analyses, conducted candid and serious criticism and self-criticism with each other, and made statements in response.

Ma Liyun commented on the meeting. He pointed out that the meeting was well-arranged and had a clear theme. It was a pragmatic and truthful meeting of unity and criticism, mainly manifested in three aspects: First, the Party committee attached great importance to the meeting and carefully prepared for the meeting, including study and discussion, soliciting opinions, and heart-to-heart talks. Second, it adhered to seeking truth from facts and the problems identified were profound. Third, the improvement measures were specific and targeted, and the direction of efforts was clear.

Ma Liyun put forward three hopes and requirements for the leadership team of Nanjing Kaisheng. First, strengthen political construction and resolutely uphold the "two safeguards." Continuously follow up on the study of General Secretary Xi's latest important speeches and instructions, thoroughly understand and master them, integrate them, and achieve unity of knowledge and action, comprehensively improving leadership capabilities and practical levels. Second, keep in mind the "major matters of the state" and take the initiative to take on responsibilities. In line with the major goals of economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and the vision for 2035 proposed by the CPC Central Committee, focusing on the theme of high-quality development, establishing a new stage, implementing new concepts, and building a new pattern, combining the company's own actual situation, strengthening scientific planning, leading all cadres and employees to overcome difficulties and forge ahead, and effectively implementing the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the group's strategy in all aspects of work. Third, adhere to strictness and pragmatism and continuously improve style of work. Style of work should be treated as a systematic project, promoted in the long term, and the role of the "key minority" should be played, pressure should be transmitted layer by layer, and a development environment of integrity and honesty should be further consolidated.

Feng Jianhua, on behalf of the leadership team of Nanjing Kaisheng, made a concluding speech. First, continue to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Truly understand, master, and implement it, and effectively enhance the "four consciousnesses," strengthen the "four confidences," and achieve the "two safeguards," maintaining high consistency with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core in thought, politics, and action. Second, resolutely implement the major decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the Group. Focusing on the company's annual business goals and tasks, further promote the effective integration of Party building and business operations, improve the level of Party building work, and unite and lead Party members and the masses to lead high-quality development of the enterprise with high-quality Party building. Third, strengthen responsibility and self-improvement. Continuously improve the ability and level of the leadership team to grasp the new stage, implement new concepts, and build a new pattern. Actively respond to the new situations, problems, and challenges faced by the company in the new situation from the perspectives of ideology, attitude, and action. Fourth, adhere to overall strict governance of the Party and strictly observe political discipline and rules. Take the lead in implementing democratic centralism, resolutely implement the spirit of the eight-point regulation of the Central Committee, deepen the responsibility system for Party style and clean government, implement the "two responsibilities," and continuously create a political ecology of integrity and honesty.
