Professor Cao Feng, Chief Engineer of the Space Structure Institute at Shanghai Baoye Group, visited the company for discussions.

To broaden the design thinking of designers in steel structure design, on October 25, the company specially invited Professor Cao Feng, chief engineer of the Spatial Structure Institute of Shanghai Bao冶 Group, to give a lecture on steel structure design.

Professor Cao Feng is a national first-level registered engineer and a master of engineering. He works as the chief engineer of the Spatial Structure Institute at the Architectural Design Research Institute of Shanghai Bao冶 Group Co., Ltd., mainly engaged in the design of spatial structures, technical consulting, and research and development of related technical software. For many years, he has mainly participated in or presided over dozens of representative engineering projects, including the steel structure design of the Utstarcom China headquarters Hangzhou R&D center, Wuxi Gymnasium, swimming pool, the steel structure construction support design of the National Stadium Bird's Nest, the construction support design of the Beijing Wukesong Basketball Arena, and the outer shell net structure design of the China Central Television Television Culture Center.

Professor Cao Feng gave a detailed introduction to some of the iconic steel structure projects he presided over or participated in, explaining his thinking and ideas in the design process, citing the ingenious application of mechanical principles in engineering, emphasizing the importance of conceptual design, and advocating the concept of integrating steel structure design with ecological aesthetics. Professor Cao Feng has not only made achievements in the design of large-span spatial structures but also in software development. His structural software has been successfully applied to bidding, design, and drawing in many projects.

In the four-hour exchange meeting, employees of the civil engineering institute actively spoke up, engaging in enthusiastic discussions with Professor Cao on some problems encountered in their work. The atmosphere was humorous and pleasant. Everyone expressed that they benefited greatly from Professor Cao's report, and many design ideas can be used for reference in cement plant steel structures. Professor Cao's pursuit of knowledge, accumulation, and achievements in his profession have greatly inspired everyone's enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement of design level.
