On the afternoon of January 30th, after the awards ceremony of Nanjing Kaisheng's first basketball tournament, Nanjing Kaisheng's "Ten Perfect Nine Beautiful, Kaisheng Triumphant" New Year's Eve party kicked off with a joyful opening dance, "Good Days".

The evening party featured 17 programs interspersed with two game sessions. The programs were diverse and exciting, encompassing songs, dances, operas, skits, cross-talk, musicals, and poetry recitations. Many people participated, with over 100 performers. The atmosphere was varied, with laughter and tears, passion and grace coexisting. The entire evening was filled with highlights and lasted for 3 hours.
If we were to use four words to describe the moving aspects of the entire evening, they would be - nostalgic, humorous, passionate, and touching.
Keyword: Nostalgia
Representative Works: Technology Institute's "Love", "In the Mood for Love"
Nostalgia is an emotion, a sentiment for old things, old friends, and bygone years. It is Du Fu's "Feeling the times, flowers bring tears, hating farewell, birds startle the heart," and Su Shi's "Ten years of life and death, two vastness, do not think, it is difficult to forget." On January 30th, for all the employees of Nanjing Kaisheng born in the late 1970s and 1980s, nostalgia was a collective reminiscence of Little Tigers and the youth, freedom, and dreams they represented: "Don't let youth grow lonelier with age, plant my four-leaf clover in your dream field, call out to the sky and say I love you, say to the wandering white clouds that I miss you..." Familiar melodies resonated through the faces of the twelve not-so-young boys, reaching our hearts; their dance moves, no less impressive than Little Tigers', seemed to dance out that period of unregrettable youth.

If "Love" is a musical version of nostalgia, then "In the Mood for Love" is a cinematic version. Liu Jiao and Li Liang's deep duet, the half-bright, half-dark stage lighting, the jazz and old records in the background music, plus the gorgeous and lyrical waltz, perfectly conveyed that unspoken emotion. The complete silence throughout the performance proved the power of nostalgia.

Representative Works: Technology Center's "Tiger Fragrance Record", General Mine Institute's "A Playful Account of Qianlong"

"Tiger Fragrance Record," with its hilarious actions and frequent jokes, deservedly won the Jury's Grand Prize. Nanjing Kaisheng's male comedian Teng Fei and female comedian Fu Jingjing took the comedy to the extreme, and Hu Ruomei's supporting role was equally brilliant. The format of telling Kaisheng stories using ancient costumes resonated with the audience. Every line, close to the lives of Kaisheng people, elicited laughter from the audience, such as Teng Fei and Dong Lu's coded message through the wall: "Integrity and innovation, to be the best," or Fu Jingjing's couplet exchange with Teng Fei: "5000 tons, 10000 tons, every piece is a masterpiece" / "Southern Hemisphere, Northern Hemisphere, Kaisheng everywhere," or Teng Fei's classic description of going to work: "The most painful thing is having nothing to do at work, and then having work right before leaving..." "Tiger Fragrance Record" vividly portrayed the lives of Nanjing Kaisheng's young employees.
"A Playful Account of Qianlong" was slightly less impressive in terms of plot and language, but its use of internet slang and the portrayal of a television shopping scene were quite outstanding.
Keyword: Passion
Representative Works: Comprehensive Department's "Whatever Music", Technology Center's "Passionate Jam"

Passion actually ran through the entire evening. Whether it was the opening dance "Getting Better and Better," the Electric Power Institute's "Nobody," the Civil Engineering Institute's "Riverdance," the male duet "You Love Her So Much," or the street dance in the family performance, all were noteworthy. The passionate performances on stage not only showcased the vitality and enthusiasm of Nanjing Kaisheng's young employees but also brought the older employees back to their passionate years.

Representative Works: Party Branch, Trade Union's "Love is Eternal", Overseas Department's "South and North"

Because of love, there is compassion; because of understanding, there is tolerance... When love encounters separation, misunderstanding, and disagreement, only trust and giving can blossom the flower of love. The musical "Love is Eternal," planned and arranged by the Party Branch and Trade Union, captivated the audience. A young couple, as their love deepens, suddenly faces the prospect of one partner's long-term business trips. Hesitation, anxiety, fear, and weighing options lead to exhaustion and loss of confidence in the relationship. At this time, an older employee who has experienced the conflict between love and career, and his supportive wife, persuade the young couple with their personal experiences, ultimately leading to a happy ending. This is a story about true love, giving, and growth.
The actors' dedicated performance, realistic dialogue, appropriate background music, and the point-of-view narration made the play very effective. When the older employee video-called his wife and children, and when the young couple finally reconciled and embraced, many audience members wiped away tears; among them were both older and younger employees.
"Love is Eternal" fully revealed the views of Nanjing Kaisheng employees and their families on love, career, and values. After the play, General Manager Feng, on behalf of the company's leadership team, expressed sincere respect to the employees and their families who have made great contributions and sacrifices to the company's development. The on-site personnel from the company's three domestic and international general contracting project departments also creatively filmed a series of shots, expressing heartfelt blessings to the company and all employees from the project sites.

The Overseas Department's family performance of the poem recitation "South and North" spoke the hearts of the employees. Nanjing Kaisheng's employees come from all over the country, and their business trips take them all over the world, but their hearts are always gathered here.

The Nanjing Kaisheng 2009 New Year's Eve Gala concluded successfully after three hours of wonderful performances. After fair judging, the Technology Center won the Best Organization Award; the Party Committee and Trade Union's "Love is Eternal" and the Technology Center's "Tiger Fragrance Record" won the Jury's Grand Prize. The Technology Institute's "I'll Be a Singer Too", the Comprehensive Department's "Whatever Music", the Technology Center and General Mine Institute's "You Love Her So Much", and the Technology Center's "Passionate Jam" won the Best Program Award, and the remaining programs received the Excellent Program Award.

This evening gala received high attention from company leadership. The company allocated a special fund for the gala and established a preparatory group. The labor union made tremendous efforts, completing a series of complex tasks including gala planning, creative design, personnel arrangements, program rehearsals, venue selection, prop rentals, award setting, scoring standard development, stage design, lighting and sound effects, on-site atmosphere, flowers, and etiquette. To ensure the quality of the gala, participating programs underwent rigorous selection. The preparatory group also invited teachers from the Jiangsu Provincial Performing Arts Group for special guidance. Compared to last year, the company's business was busier this year, and the actors had less rehearsal time. They overcame many difficulties, using their breaks to rehearse, often returning home at 10 pm. This wonderful spiritual feast is the result of the hard work and sweat of all participants.

As the Year of the Tiger's New Spring arrives, let us make wishes together for a brighter future for Nanjing Kaisheng!
